One Two Two One
Three states or manifestations of life: body, mind, over-mind.
“What goes on four legs in the morning, on two legs at noon, and on three legs in the evening?”
How does it feel to push your tongue into the hollow of a bone, searching for meat? How does it feel to fashion the bone into a leg, an awl, a pin? You have to catch bones at the right moment, when they are hot. Hold on to my hand, because I feel that I am going. I am going toward my most divine primary life. I am sliding out at the back and down the middle. “The lamp in the spine does not light on beef and prunes.” I hope for rest, seeking to become a fibrous bundle, a sack of fatty degeneracy. Still, I am living and hunting out flesh—best not sleep face down lest I think you prey. You are slick and glisten, which is to say you are ancient. Grape, knife, cup, wheat, are symbols in eternity and eternity is surely dry—dry like stars or boiling water—quietly unalive.
